Own Boat & Private Practical Courses

Instruction can be arranged at a time for you and an instructor, at a time that is mutually convenient, for a minimum of one day. 

Some examples of what our instructors can help with:

• Berthing and un-berthing

• Electronic Chart Plotter and Radar familiarity

• Man overboard

• Picking up a mooring

Cost:  £300 per day (+ mileage & accommodation if required, if away from Rhu Marina) + cost of certificates

Other Info: You will be responsible for all the instructor's meals throughout the training. All running costs of the boat are the responsibility of the owner. 

The majority of the RYA courses can be run on your own boat. The RYA student/instructor ratios (power 3:1, motor 5:1) need to be adhered to and the boats have to be suitable for the training come come with a minimum level of safety equipment.
