RYA Advanced Powerboat Instructor

The course is a mixture of running practical sessions afloat (including a night exercise on the first evening), and discussions about the syllabus, the difference between instructing and coaching, & how to deliver and structure the various topics in the courses.

The Advanced Powerboat Instructor Course is designed to ensure the prospective APBI has the experience, knowledge and competence to teach the Advanced, Intermediate courses, and Tender Operator Courses, as well as being able to undertake Powerboat Level 2 Own Boat Training outside a school’s operating area.

  • RYA Advanced Powerboat Course Completion Certificate

    Either Advanced CoC, Yachtmaster Coastal (motor) or Offshore CoC (motor)

    Commercial Endorsement (required to teach Tender Operator and Advanced )

    Minimum Age 18

    RYA Powerboat Instructor

    RYA First Aid

    • 2 Days use of Maverick

    • Fuel

    • Wet Weather gear (if required)

    • Use of Lifejacket
